Tuesday, August 13, 2019 – VeraBank has just received a coveted Gold Award in Marketing in the Best Community Banking Awards in Texas. The award-winning campaign was for the successful market launch of the new VeraBank brand. Formerly Citizens National Bank, the Henderson-based bank found as it grew into new markets, it bumped up against similarly named banks and needed a new moniker to more authentically distinguish itself and reflect the genuine, forward-thinking financial institution it has become.
In announcing the new VeraBank name, President & CEO Brad Tidwell said, “Our goal was to find a name that was unique, simple, transparent, and identifiable, and I truly believe we have done just that… Our new name will boldly reinforce our commitment to deliver the best banking experience to our customers and neighbors, manifested in a brand that reflects our roots.” While not an easy decision, changing names was essential to the future of the bank and the new opportunities it will provide.
Woodie Tipps, EVP and Chief Retail Officer for VeraBank describes why this win is so meaningful: “Winning this award is an affirmation of the successful completion of a very challenging and important initiative impacting our current and future customers, employees, and shareholders. The overwhelmingly positive response means we got it just right.” On collaborating with Adrenaline, Tipps says, “They’re a trusted partner that provided insightful guidance on a most important venture impacting the future of our bank.”
Established in 1930, VeraBank, formerly Citizens National Bank, is a Texas-based financial institution serving East and Central portions of the state with its network of 36 branches. For almost 90 years, the bank has served the people of Texas with honesty and integrity. In 2018 following an acquisition, the bank partnered with experience design agency Adrenaline to successfully create and execute this renaming/rebranding effort to better signify its current principles and future promise.
Today, the name VeraBank and the overall look and feel of the brand, is more reflective of its commitment to delivering genuine banking experiences to its customers – built around relationships and values that go as deep as its Texas roots. The Best of Community Banking Awards from the Independent Bankers Association of Texas recognizes member institutions for excellence in community banking across the state. In 2019, the awards competition received a record number of entries.
